The bow of HMAS Vampire. A Daring class destroyer built in 1956, Vampire was the last large destroyer built in Australia and represents the era of big guns superseded now by the modern missile navy. It was decommissioned in 1986 and is now a floating exhibit in the National Maritime Museum.

Anzac Day, April 25th, marks the landing of Australian & New Zealand troops at Gallipoli in 1915. Over 10,000 of these troops died in an eight month campaign that quickly became a stalemate.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

We will remember them.
